I was born and raised in Homestead, FL. My interests in college were in the field of business, so I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida. But in 1998, I received my first massage. I didn’t realize at the time that the direction of my life was about to change. I absolutely loved it and dreamed of one day becoming a massage therapist myself.
I am a 2004 graduate from the Florida School of Massage, recognized as one of the leading massage schools in the United States. I received national certification from the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and currently hold licensing in the states of Florida and Georgia.
Along with eleven years’ experience in massage, I’ve developed skills in myofascial release and craniosacral therapy. I am also proficient in the Raindrop Technique, developed by D Gary Young, using Young Living Essential oils. This technique combines the benefits of massage and essential oils.
I am passionate about massage therapy, both for specific problems and simply to promote holistic good health.
What will make your massage experience better in my care?
I believe two factors set my work apart:
First, my technique is unique. My strokes are deliberately slow. I have become an expert at “sinking into” tense muscle tissue and “hanging out” with a slow, long, deep stroke that encourages fascia and muscular adhesions to let go which creates a relaxed sensation and helps bring your whole body into balance.
Second, I use a cream that has excellent, dependable traction for deep work. This allows me to engage the connective tissue (fascia) instead of slipping over the surface of the skin. It also leaves your skin feeling moisturized but not overly oiled or greasy.
I can personally testify to the benefit of this kind of massage therapy. During my stint in massage school, I was the happy recipient of ten of these deep-tissue massage sessions from my instructor. The chronic lower back pain I’d experienced for 14 years, which I was convinced I’d simply have to live with for the rest of my life, was alleviated 100% by these massage sessions! It seemed almost like a miracle!
Of course, each person brings his or her own individual set of challenging symptoms. I would not dare promise a “quick fix.” However, many people leave after only one or two sessions with smiles on their faces. From my experience over the past ten years, most of my clients experience gradual relief from more “dedicated” chronic pain with regular sessions. Regardless of your pain history, those who are committed to a regularly scheduled massage can expect greater and longer-lasting success. As with all things, commitment to success is crucial.
Many people have told me I have a unique touch. Often a new client will comment: “I’ve never had a massage like that before,” or, “That was the best massage I’ve ever had. I’ve never felt so deeply relaxed.”
I would love the opportunity to help you reach your ideal pain-free goals or simply learn to love the body God gave you and relax in it.
